28 May 2009In my first year at CMD we were asked to create a campagne about global warming. After a short analysis we realized that shocking people doesn’t work that well anymore. So we decided to start the campagne with a commercial and to approach the subject from a different road. We used humor as an icebreaker and at the end the awareness kicks in. The commercial was also nominated for the Milieu Defensie Film Festival.

The ‘pay off’ of our campagne was ‘Uiteindelijk raakt het milieu je toch,’ which basicly means ‘in the end the invironment hits you.’ By using the can as a metaphore as the way we treat our planet, we show the people that if we continue doing so, the world will let us know eventually. In other words: tsunami’s, and cyclones will increase, global warming will move faster, you name it. It’s a way of telling people we should start living in a more sustainable planet.
