The Fountain

The Fountain, directed by Darren Aronofsky, is a movie that I will never forget. If you haven’t seen or even heard of it yet, it’s time to watch it!

Apart from the fact that a lot of the shots are very photographic (very symetrical) which gives the film a very unique atmosphere, and therefore adds something for me personally, the story is told in such a good way that it almost works like ‘the butterfly effect’. And I don’t mean the movie, but the real thing.

I say this because I gave this film to several people who, after watching it, decided to take a different path in their lives. I know it sounds a bit extreme like that, but my point is that they decided to pursue there dreams again, which, in my oppinion is something so many have forgotten about over the years. The movie is basicly about moving on with your life after you lose someone that meant so much to you and how to deal with it (or not). You see the story through both person’s eyes. Both perspectives are shown in some great metaphores which makes a simple story complex and very vivid. To give everyone who doens’t know the movie yet a little bit of a glimpse of what it’s about, check out the trailer below.
